With hybrid work becoming the norm, the office has become much more than just a place to work. It’s evolved into a meeting point—a space to connect with colleagues and get a social boost—rather than a mandatory daily destination for all employees.

In my view, companies are increasingly trying to encourage employees to come to the office voluntarily, and anything that makes that easier is appreciated. Think services like breakfast, gyms, parking, and central locations. All of this is especially present on Södermalm, which is an incredibly attractive area to rent an office in. Heavy investments are now being made to develop properties and offices that meet these demands. I’m thinking of examples like Atrium Ljungberg’s A-House in Slussen, AMF and Metropole’s major plans for the area around Södra Station, and Vasakronan’s exclusive Arena in Skrapan, just to name a few.
